The war breaks out in 1991, and on the day after their wedding, Ratko is enlisted in the army. It is tough to say goodbye. Mira is walking the empty streets of the town on her own every night. She spends days sitting among the ruins of the bomb-hit church where they were wed, thinking about Ratko in battle. Ratko is injured, and even though his mates rescue him from the frontline, he dies of his injuries. Mira is given the tragic news on the day of their wedding anniversary. For weeks, she is wandering on the seaside thinking about her dead sweetheart. As she is watching the waves at sunset, memories of the two of them together come flooding back. It is difficult, but she must stay strong and go on with her life – she must tell her story so that people can understand how much better life would be without wars.

Curiosity about the clip:

0:28 – Skradinski Buk falls. Krka National Park lies about 10km inland from Sibenik in this part of Dalmatia.
